bleh - sorry chap - not sure of the point of this site now (except maybe I should restart the wiki again lol). The devs are about unlike many MMORTS but things are slowed development wise as the mess in the core cluster of systems has led to the senate being stalled. Activity is about but its hard to gauge as many conceal online activity as being offline and griefed hasnt been solved. That is prob the only major MMORTS issue i see being a problem for many. Aliasing is a bit hard as many cannot trust folk enough - with alts abounding it sort of nerfs the trust that needs building to alias well or effectivly. The Pay2Winners though are mostly concerned with messing up other high end players games so shouldnt affect most.

See you in game - i would suggest a guild once u get going as even basic guild help is massive.

Well, thanks for the response.. Have you ever checked out "Mankind" that looks similar to this, but with a bigger fan base, and more support. I haven't actually played it yet though.

I almost bet they would have to restart the game in order to fix a lot of the problems they have, but I'd imagin they are worried about loseing alot of folks if they chose to do that.

There are many ways to solve the issues i mentioned - no need for server restart - the least popular option.

Mankind has been out since 1998 (yes last century) and has had many more issues along its path over laming and such - none of which were resolved in a manner that let the genre move on and evolve. They were picked up by O2E, an asian publisher and the game has languished for a few years, leaving the genre without a seriously actively developed one universe MMORTS. However, since the indy devs at DSE picked up the challenge and brought out Beyond Protocol it seems that Mankind has smelt the burn of a threat and have engaged a French development company to update and improve Mankind and its code. It will be very interesting to see if the old Mankind players will give a small indy developer a go or allow O2E yet another go at the title of daddy of the genre.

I am hugely pleased at O2E's move but i always plum for the little guy and I am giving DSE a go - some truly innovative features and good long term potential if they get the player base financial support. DSE have the potential to release different clients to the same server, an architecture usually seen being closely gaurded by big developers like CCP and able to allow 1st person n 3rd person to interact on the same server as the MMORTS (like the console FPS in Eve). This deserves our support as it places our genre as the dominant interface and could reap us a huge player base - the need of every MMORTS.
